Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI) is an Israeli organization that is similar to the United State’s regional Conservancies or National Parks. SPNI maintains huge pristine nature reserves. I have found their quite comfortable field houses to be excellent places to stay (The fee for stay is reasonable). Most SPNI destinations feature excellent reserves. SPNI butterfly and wildflower hotspots there are well documented on our blog, including Hermon, Golan, Meron, Achziv and Ein-Gedi. From February through May, viewing wildflowers on SPNI reserves is an unforgettable experience. You’ll see Middle Eastern flora and fauna in a safe and protected habitat.
