Butterflies and Blooms in the Briar Patch is located in the sweet town of Eatonton, a little over an hour from Atlanta, Georgia. It’s been my experience that the Briar Patch habitat is the best place to see, observe and photograph butterflies between Massachusetts and the Florida Panhandle.
Virginia Linch and her volunteers have planted thousands of host and nectar-providing plants. Morning butterflies fly through “the Patch” by the hundreds from April to October. I have seen 29 different species on one particular morning! “The Briar Patch” is just over 5 acres in size and is completely accessible. Many hospitality choices can be found nearby, in this Oconee lakefront vacation destination.
